Single Seal sings “Let’s Stay Together” on Ellen

Has Seal bared his true feelings about the ending of his marriage with Heidi Klum?

President Obama isn’t the only guy who knows his way around an Al Green ballad.

It seems Seal‘s a little reluctant to accept his pending divorce from Heidi Klum.

First, the singer told PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley that he’ll always have “tremendous love” for his soon-to-be ex-wife. Now he’s been recorded singing Reverend Green’s ’70s love song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

During his nearly seven years of marriage, the Grammy winner drew on his family to drive his music choices — and they certainly played a part in his latest effort.

The lyrics to the song go a little something like this: “I’m so in love with you; Whatever you want to do is alright with me; Baby, let’s, let’s stay together; Loving you whether, whether times are good or bad, happy or sad.”

Sure, the track is featured on Seal’s new disc, Soul 2 — a cover album of great soul classics of the past 50 years — but surely there are other songs he could have opted to perform, no?

Seal is shocked and grieving over split from Heidi Klum >>

Seal, who has three kids with the Project Runway hostess, also told Ellen he has no plans to remove his wedding ring any time soon.

“Yes, I am still wearing my ring,” the crooner replied when questioned by the daytime gabber. “Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person.”

He added, “Will we wear the rings for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand so I have no intentions of taking it off any time soon.”

In a follow-up interview with The Insider’s Kevin Frazier, Seal acknowledged that despite the “incredible respect” he and Heidi still hold for each other, “Unfortunately, as is the case with a lot of things, it just didn’t work out.”

“To tell you the truth, it just so happens that this is all kind of come out and been leaked the week that I happened to be promoting an album, which I’d rather not be doing,” Seal admitted. “I [Heidi and I] would much rather be dealing with this behind closed doors, as we’ve never really been people who air their laundry in public.”

The split may have come as a shock to fans, but according to reports, it was no snap decision.

Heidi has allegedly been interviewing divorce lawyers for the past two weeks. And, TMZ claims she’s been making every effort to keep the search out of the public eye.

We hear she recently hired a man for the job.
