Reese Witherspoon has probably met just about every big-name celeb out there — but royalty is a whole other story. Read on to find out how she freaked out when she got to hang with Kate Middleton.
Reese Witherspoon is kind of a big deal herself, so her reaction to meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton is just that much more adorable.
The This Means War star told Ellen DeGeneres that her meeting with the royals made her pretty much as nervous as a first date.
“Somebody called me and said… would you want to come over and meet the prince and princess?” the Oscar winner told Ellen. “I was like, ‘Yes’ — my husband just thought I was so dorky. He was like, ‘Why are you so excited?'”
Kate is actually a duchess, not a princess, but that’s neither here nor there. Witherspoon told Ellen she “must of tried on like six outfits” prior to the meeting, held when Prince William and his bride visited Los Angeles last summer.
“I’m meeting a princess, you don’t understand,” Witherspoon explained. “You have to be wearing the right outfit and the whole thing. I don’t know, maybe we can be friends. So we went and it’s always funny. Whenever I am super excited about things, my husband calls it the double barrel — that’s when I smile so big I look like a child.”

“I was so excited to meet her. Y’all, she’s a princess. I mean, I would like to hang out. I’m not sure she wants to hang out with me, [but] I could see that happening,” she gushed.
“She seems like such a lady and I think it’s so nice now days to see someone with such nice composure and carries herself so beautifully.”
