Octavia Spencer is going to splurge on herself now that she’s an Oscar winner. Why does she want to look like a Girl Scout cookie?
Our girl crush on actress Octavia Spencer continues. The Oscar winner isn’t afraid to talk about the taboo subject of body weight in skinny-obsessed Hollywood. The best part? She doesn’t want to change to fit the entertainment industry’s standards, just get healthier.
“I love my body,” Spencer told Al Roker before the Oscars telecast. “I’m trying to get to an even more healthier weight, and I’m not trying to be a thin mint. I want to be a thick, chocolate mint. I also want to be sexy in my own eyes.” So, what is she going to do to achieve that? “I’m going to get my boobs stapled to my shoulders, so by the time I’m 70, they will drop to where they need to be.”
This isn’t the first time she’s talked about getting a breast lift.
“I am going to get my boobs lifted,” she told Parade in mid-February. “That’s going to be my first gift. I’m going to do that. I figured going into my 40s I want my boobs where they were when I was 17.”
It won’t happen right away: She has a film coming up with Diablo Cody and will go under the knife afterward. Sure, it’ll be nice to look better, but The Help star said it’s for health reasons.
“I am not healthy at this weight,” the 39-year-old said. “Any time you have too much around the middle, then there is a problem.”
She also has a tip for weight-conscious women.
“If more women ate, they would be a lot happier,” she joked. “Let me tell you, I am a lot grumpier when I don’t eat.”
We’re the same way, Octavia.
