It’s a fact that the women of Mad Men are transcendent beyond 1960s beauty — and Estée Lauder has taken note.
Ladies, if you find yourselves stocking up on red lipstick, styling your hair with waves and shopping for skirts with high waistlines, you’ve been hit by the Mad Men effect. The acclaimed AMC show that’s set in the 1960s has audiences raving from every angle — including those who work in the beauty department!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Estée Lauder has released a two-piece limited edition cosmetic collection in honor of the show’s highly-anticipated Season 5 premiere. Each wrapped in a white, gold and light blue floral print box and complete with gold fabric cases, the products are a cherry-orange coral lipstick and a creme blush. The line seems to be both inspired by the essentials inside the makeup bags of January Jones, Elisabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks, as well as perfectly on trend for the season’s best colors in beauty.
The collection’s slogan is also equally appropriate: “Shake. Stir. Seduce.” The words appear in the advertising that also features a Betty Draper-like character who dons the signature lipstick while holding up the blush. And where can we get that gorgeous nail color as well?
Estée Lauder’s Cherry lipstick is priced at $25, and the Evening Rose creme rouge is offered at $40. Both products are sold online and at Bloomingdale’s for a limited time only.
