How does a very pregnant singer, mogul and Fashion Star mentor celebrate her pending motherhood? With a star-studded baby shower, of course!
What were you celebrating yesterday afternoon? Whatever it was, it couldn’t be as big as Jessica Simpson‘s baby shower. More than 50 of her loved ones gathered in Los Angeles on Sunday to congratulate the Fashion Star mentor on her upcoming bundle of joy.
The event was organized by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss and featured a color palette of pink and yellow, according to Us Weekly. Tube-shaped balloons and spring tulips were sprinkled throughout the venue.
“It was a kid-friendly shower with many of her friends bringing babies,” a source told the magazine. “Jessica [Alba] brought her baby Haven, 7 months, and Ashlee [Simpson] brought Bronx, 3.”
Also in attendance was Ellen Pompeo, along with friends and family members who flew in from Texas.
“She received tons of gifts mostly wrapped in pink gift wrap and boxes,” added the source. “There were several books, stuffed toys and clothes among other items.”
The shower was no surprise to Simpson — she actually showed up to the venue before all of her guests and greeted them as they arrived!
According to People, the singer wore her hair down with soft braids around her face and sported a light blue dress that showed off her pregnant belly.
“She’s so excited to be a mom,” said a friend to the magazine. “She can’t wait to meet her little girl.”
Simpson tweeted her thanks earlier today. “All day yesterday felt like a perfect dream! Thank you @MindyWeiss for the best baby shower any mommy could ever want! Love u!”
