Which Sex and the City star is down for The Carrie Diaries?

If you’re getting nostalgic for Sex and the City, you’re not the only one — one veteran SATC character would love to be part of The Carrie Diaries on The CW!

The whole point of The Carrie Diaries — as written by Candace Bushnell — is to explain how Carrie Bradshaw, country “sparrow” and NYC transplant, eventually became Carrie Bradshaw, fun and fabulous fashion icon well into her forties.

However, Bushnell’s book only includes friends Samantha Jones (and its sequel introduces Miranda Hobbes), leaving Charlotte York nowhere to be found. So which SATC actor is ready to jump into the new CW pilot?

Willie Garson, who played Carrie’s loveable friend Stanford Blatch, says he wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to work with a young Bradshaw, who will be played by AnnaSophia Robb.

“If they called, I would do it,” he said while on the red carpet for the Madison Square Garden debut of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour.

And even though Garson has found a new TV home on the set of USA’s White Collar, the actor confesses that his heart remains with Stanford and probably always will.

“I’m still him if they decide to make another movie,” he asserted. “Every time I think it is over, the phone rings again!”

Could a Sex and the City 3 script ever materialize? Garson can’t say, but he’s thankful for such loyal fans. “I think it is great that people want more of these characters since we are basically in wheelchairs at this point.”
