Starz and Magic City have a rare treat for SheKnows readers: A sneak peek at Friday’s episode, “Suicide Blonde!” This sneak preview sheds a little light on the tense relationship between Ike’s daughter, Lauren, and his young wife, Vera.
Magic City charts the trials and tribulations of Ike Evans, the fictional owner of the Miramar Playa hotel in 1959 Miami—a time of Sinatra, Cuban revolution and crime aplenty. Ike’s business is booming, but his partnership with hot-tempered gangster Ben Diamond is a near-constant headache that could either destroy or enrich the future of the Miramar.

We’re now nearly five episodes into the first season of Magic City and Ike is being tested on all fronts: His hotel needs business, the district attorney is breathing down his neck after the mysterious disappearance of a union lawyer who once got in Ike’s way, and his eldest son, Stevie, is secretly sleeping with Ben’s wife.
