If you’re a fan of Bon Iver, you’ll love this! Justin Vernon is releasing a new album with his side project Volcano Choir and going on a brief tour with the band.
Great news for those of you who love that indie sound!
Justin Vernon — more commonly known as the man behind the indie-folk band Bon Iver — is back working with one of his many side projects, Volcano Choir. The band is releasing a brand new album and will be going on tour.
The new record, Repave, will be out on Sept. 2 internationally and Sept. 3 in the U.S. It will be Volcano Choir’s first album since 2009’s Unmap, which made it to number 92 on the Billboard chart.

Volcano Choir is the collaborative effort of Vernon and Collections of Colonies of Bees (sounds très hipster, no?). Per the official website, Repave “focuses on the love and bond between the members of Volcano Choir, how their friendships were fortified over the years-long process of writing and recording these songs.”
The band will be going on a short tour in the U.S., with two stops in Canada. So if you’re in southern Ontario, you can check out Volcano Choir in Toronto on Sept. 8 and in Burlington on Sept. 9.
Vernon released a trailer for the album (we’re sure the fans appreciated that!), which was directed by Dan Huiting. Check it out below, and let us know what you think. Will you be picking up this bad boy?
