OK, this was totally worth the wait. For months now, we, the general public, have been kept in the dark about Paul Thomas Anderson’s newest film, Inherent Vice, with nothing to go on but the mind-blowingly incredible cast. Finally our patience has been rewarded with the best trailer we have seen in a while.
The most uncomfortable celebrity interviews ever
Inherent Vice pulls together Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio del Toro, Jena Malone, Maya Rudolph, Martin Short and a whole whack of other talented actors to bring Thomas Pynchon’s novel about a “pothead” detective, Larry “Doc” Sportello, caught up in the mysterious disappearance of his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend to the big screen. And we are beyond excited. We’re ecstatic. We are actually buying a tent, as we speak, just so we can camp outside the cinema and be the first ones to watch it. Prepare to be amazed:

There’s something very Big Lebowski about the feel of this trailer and about the film itself, which is different. This movie definitely seems like a major Oscar contender right now. Just look at that cast — there’s no way this bad boy will not be nominated for an Academy Award. Heck, we are nominating it for an Oscar ourselves. That’s it.

Inherent Vice is hitting theatres on Dec. 12, so be ready to snap up those tickets and brighten up the holiday season. What did you think of the trailer? Do you think the movie will be nominated for an Oscar?
