Sad news for Jennifer Love Hewitt: Her mom, Patricia, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday. She was 67.
The Client Liststar Jennifer Love Hewitt is going through a rough time right now: Her mother, Patricia Hewitt, passed away on Tuesday from cancer complications. She was 67.
“She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place,” the actress’ rep said while confirming the death. “They ask for privacy at this difficult time.”
Patricia moved from Texas to California in 1989 so the young Jennifer Love could pursue an acting career. Still, Love’s outspoken ways haven’t always pleased her mother.
“She was like, ‘So let’s review… For 15 years people have been talking about your boobs. Earlier this year, you wrote about your hoo haw in a book. Now you’re playing a crack ho on TV.’ She was like, ‘Do you think maybe you could do an animated movie next?'” Jennifer joked while promoting The Client List last year.
Her mom was joking with that disapproval — the two were very close and Jennifer always thanked her mom for installing values in her.

“Being sort of a feisty young lady from Texas comes naturally to me because that’s sort of who I am. I’ve grown up in a household of feisty Texas women,” she told Parade earlier this year. “…I’ve tried not to act too crazy or disrespect the opportunities that I have been given or the people that have believed in me. I also think some of it’s just luck. I’ve been really blessed and I don’t necessarily know what keeps one person here longer than somebody else, but I couldn’t feel more grateful.”
Our thoughts are with Jennifer Love Hewitt during this difficult time.
