Dallas isn’t done yet. The primetime soap has been renewed for a second season. TNT has confirmed that those troublesome Ewings will be back next year with more backstabbing and deceit.
Viewers just can’t get enough of TNT’s Dallas. The reboot has latched on to a new generation of fans, who’ve tuned in at record numbers. That’s why the network has greenlit the soapy series for another season.

According to TVLine, TNT announced the good news earlier today.
“Dallas has been a success for us on every level: pitch-perfect writing, smart directing and buzz-worthy performances by a new generation of stars and their iconic counterparts,” said TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies programming head Michael Wright in a statement.

He continued, “It’s clear the Ewings of Southfork have once again captured the imagination of viewers.”
He’s absolutely right. Dallas 2.0 has made quite a splash in primetime. When the show debuted earlier this month, it pulled 6.8 million viewers. It became the No. 1 scripted series premiere on all of cable so far this year. And it’s continued to average 6.9 million viewers each week.
Dallas pairs original stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray with newcomers Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster and Julie Gonzalo. The series currently airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TNT, with the season finale slated for Aug. 15.

In related news, TNT also renewed the buddy cop drama Rizzoli and Isles for a fourth season. The show that stars Angie Harmon(Det. Jane Rizzoli) and Sasha Alexander (M.E. Maura Isles ) as a crime-solving duo will return with all new episodes in 2013.
