In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Vanessa Bryant reveals her true diva side by discussing the insane demands she places on husband Kobe Bryant.
Eeek! Vanessa Bryant doesn’t exactly seem nice in a recent interview she gave to New York Magazine. Media sites gained early access to the interview transcript, and Vanessa sounds outright cold and mean, especially about her NBA star husband Kobe Bryant.
“I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can’t win championships. If you’re sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning championships should happen every single year.”

Ouch. While we certainly understand the point she maybe was attempting to make — that time away from loved ones should be spent in a worthwhile endeavor — it does seem a bit demanding to expect perfection every year. After all, only one team can win a championship, but most professional basketball players spend many days of the year away from significant others, children, and friends.

The Los Angeles Times reflects that Vanessa Bryant’s demands for a championship are very unrealistic. “But if Vanessa’s words are to be taken literally, the bar she set for Kobe to achieve basketball greatness seems awfully impossible to clear. Bryant has won five NBA championships, trailing only 13 other NBA players. Yet, by falling short of an NBA title in 11 of 16 seasons, Vanessa seems to suggest she mostly sees Kobe’s nonstop worth ethic as a waste of time.”
