Singer Katherine Jenkins is denying rumors she slept with very married David Beckham — but is the whole thing a publicity stunt?
It’s been a minute since we’ve heard any juicy David Beckham cheating rumors. Lucky for us Katherine Jenkins is around to help us out.
The 32-year-old singer blasted the allegations on Twitter today, but the rumors she addresses were mostly otherwise unknown until she said something.
“Dear Twitter friends,” she wrote, “I’ve read some horrible rumors on here & want u 2 know I absolutely deny I’ve had an affair with David Beckham.”
“The rumors are very hurtful, untrue & my lawyers tell me actionable. I’ve only met David Twice: once at the Military Awards in 2010 & on a night out in the West End in Feb 2012. We were out in a group of friends & it was just a normal fun evening out.”
“Just so we are clear I have never been on my own with him and never arranged to meet up,” she wrote.
The singer and the soccer player were both spotted at the Arts Club in Mayfair, London, partying alongside that rowdy Prince Harry back in February. Jenkins later popped up in Los Angeles for her appearance on Dancing with the Stars — the same city where the sports star lives with his oh-so-fashionable wife Victoria Beckham and their four kids.
Jenkins split from fiancé Gethin Jones in December 2011.
Beckham also denied the rumor. His reps told the Daily Mail, “Unfortunately, we have to deal with this type of nonsense on Twitter. One minute David is dead… then a more scurrilous rumor. There is not one jot of truth to any of it.”
This isn’t the first time Beckham has been faced with cheating allegations. He brought suit against claims he had paid hookers for the goods in 2010 — like he has to pay for it? He was truly busted cheating in 2004 with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos, but Posh seems to have gotten over it. In 2007 she told W magazine, “I’m not going to lie… it was hard for our entire families. David and I got through it together. No one said marriage was going to be easy. Yes, there have been bumps along the road. But the fact is we’ve come out of everything we’ve been through stronger and happier.”
