Grimm isn’t your ordinary police drama. It’s got a unique, dark fantasy twist where characters inspired by the Grimms’ fairy tales exist. Season 2 of Grimm kicked off on Aug. 13 and is currently airing Mondays at 10/9c before moving to its regular time slot on Friday, Sept. 21 at 9/8c.
Synopsis:
Set in present-day Portland, Oregon, Grimm offers a unique crime spin on the classic fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. Silas Weir Mitchell plays Monroe — a reformed wolfen Wieder-Blutbad creature and aid to detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli). Bukhardt discovers that his family line is rooted in a group of hunter guardians — the Grimms — who fight to keep humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. When Bukhardt realizes that he is the last of his kind, he aims to protect humans from the dangerous Wesens with the help of Monroe.
Other prominent characters include Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby), Nick’s sarcastic homicide partner, and Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch), Nick’s veterinarian girlfriend. Juliette is unaware that Nick is a Grimm until the final episode of the first season.
Why should you watch?
Juliette ends up in the hospital in an apparent magic-induced coma. When she awakens following a kiss from Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz), she doesn’t remember Nick at all. Does this mean Nick is going to lose the love of his life?
Season 2 will feature the introduction of some new characters and interesting guest stars. Kristina Anapau, who appeared on True Blood as Maurella, will guest star in Episode 5. Michael Grant Terry, who plays Wendell on Bones, joins the Grimm cast for several episodes beginning in Episode 8. Terry will play student Ryan Smulson, who has taken an internship at the Portland Police Department.
