Beauty and the Beast turns beastly into beautiful

The new Beauty and the Beast puts a twist on the traditional damsel-in-distress fairy tale. Changing the forbidden castle into a police playground of NYC’s hazardous streets, this show highlights the bad-a** female lead we all wish to be. With the help of a hunky co-star who mysteriously watches over her, this sexy NYPD officer blurs the lines between police work and personal life.

Synopsis:

Beauty and the Beast is a brand-new show on The CW, loosely based on the fairy tale we all loved growing up. It takes the romance and love scenes to the next level between the two characters in a modern-day New York City atmosphere. Catherine “Cat” Chandler (Kristin Kreuk) is a NYPD detective who is haunted by the murder of her mother who was gunned down before her eyes one night nine years ago. Cat would have also been shot if not for a mysterious creature that killed the men seconds before they could pull their triggers. Doctor-turned-Army veteran Vincent Keller (Jay Ryan) was linked to one of Cat’s recent cases, and many questions arise as a result.

In this action-packed series, Vincent and Cat get close (in more ways than one) and problems ensue because of the secret she needs to keep for him. With fight scenes that are sure to please any adrenaline junkie, this new series creates an edgier version of the original happy-go-lucky Beauty and the Beast.

Beauty and the Beast is set to premiere Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. Central.
