The upcoming season of SNL has a great lineup of guest hosts. But for the first time in a long time, the cast list is the biggest question mark.
When the new season of Saturday Night Live kicks off on Sept. 15, it may be unrecognizable. Numerous faces will be missing from the cast, including Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg.

Although we knew earlier that Wiig would not be returning, Samberg didn’t make the announcement until the season was over. We never even got a chance to say goodbye. And Samberg is feeling just as sentimental.
“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Samberg told the New York Times. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”
For Samberg, Wiig’s decision and the advice she gave him was one of the reasons he decided to take the step also.
“She kept saying it just feels like it’s her time,” he said. “I connect with that. Something about it just feels like it’s the moment. My contract’s up and I did so much more than I ever thought I would ever even do.”
When the show returns, it may look completely different with so many cast members gone. But at least we now know a little more about who will be there. Today the show announced that Seth MacFarlane will be hosting the season premiere.
“The multitalented MacFarlane created the Fox series Family Guy and serves as writer, producer and voice artist on the show,” said the Associated Press. “He recently directed his first feature film, Ted, and furnished the voice for its teddy-bear title character.”
There will no doubt be at least one Family Guy and/or Ted-themed skit.
Frank Ocean will be the musical guest on the Sept. 15 show. Other guest hosts announced for this season of Saturday Night Live include Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Craig.
