Robin Williams is coming home, and by home we mean television. The actor, who previously made a splash in Mork & Mindy, is returning to the small screen. Williams is shopping a new sitcom that could land at CBS.
Over the past decade, TV has been on fire. The medium that was once frowned upon by Hollywood superstars has become their second home. Due to movie studios’ obsession with remakes and board games, actors are finding better material on the small screen.

Oscar-winner Robin Williams is giving TV a second chance. The actor, whose big break came with the ’70s sitcom Mork & Mindy, is working on a new show. According to Deadline Hollywood, Williams is teaming up with veteran David E. Kelley (Picket Fences, Ally McBeal, The Practice) to bring it to fruition.
The comedy will be written by Kelley and “set in the world of advertising.” It would star “Williams as a brilliant ad executive working alongside his daughter.” The series is being produced by 20th Century Fox TV, but CBS is looking to add it to their roster.
Out of all the broadcast networks, CBS comedies tend to be more old school. Even though this pilot will be single-camera, it could still appeal to older viewers. Everything doesn’t have to be a replica of Two and a Half Men or The Big Bang Theory. We’re sure there are some Mork & Mindy fans dying to see Williams on a weekly basis again.

After initially going from TV to film, Williams continued to make guest appearances on shows. He’s done countless comedy specials and taken dramatic turns on programs like Homicide: Life on the Street and Law and Order: SVU.
