Jessica Simpson is losing weight, but it’s not like her body is bouncing back “like a supermodel’s.” She’s doing it the hard (read: healthy) way.
Newsflash: Losing weight after having a baby is hard. Not such breaking news, right? Tell that to celebrity moms who bounce back in like 2.5 seconds after popping out their kids. Well, all celebrity moms except Jessica Simpson. The singer and Fashion Star mentor told USA Today in a new interview that losing weight after giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May has been anything but easy.

“I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was ever pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it,” she said, adding that she was “constantly hungry” and had a “big appetite” during her pregnancy. “I wanted to be happy and eat what I wanted.”
The problem? She signed a multi-million dollar deal with Weight Watchers to drop the weight. It’s not coming off as quickly as she wants, but she says she’s “lost weight every single week.”
“I didn’t realize [the weight] didn’t all come off with the baby,” Simpson said, adding that the weight loss company has been supportive and hasn’t given her a percentage of body weight to lose, despite rumors.

“They want me to be healthy,” she added.
Simpson said she’s given up her beloved macaroni and cheese and full-size bags of M&Ms for snack-size bags. She’s also walking with fiance Eric Johnson and working out with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak several times a week.

“Nobody wants to talk about their weight. For me, I have had to come to a place where I am comfortable with myself,” she said. “I’m a mom now, and get to be a role model for this beautiful little girl.”
Say what you want about Jessica Simpson, but she’s being honest about what she likes to eat and how hard it is for her to lose weight. We can relate, Jess.
