Miley Cyrus is putting music above marriage

The singer said her album is what is important, because she and her fiance don’t need a piece of paper right now to know what they mean to each other.

When Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were first engaged, a lot of people worried that the 19-year-old singer was too young to be making such a big commitment. But Cyrus is focused on her career and seems to know what she wants out of life far better than people twice her age do. She has been working on her latest record for months and has not had much time to plan her wedding.

“I’ve got so much going with this record, this record’s going to, like, kill me,” she told E! News. “I’m really excited to get obviously married, but I kind of already feel married. I know we’re forever, and I don’t really need a [piece of] paper right now.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth have been together since well before she was legal, and she is secure enough in that relationship to know that her album is going to come first. “I’ll have a single out this year,” she said. “This is the first time I get to tell people about it, so I’m really excited.”

There has been no sneak peek of what that music may sound like, but Cyrus seems to be constantly evolving in her music, her acting and her personal life. “It’s all really different,” she told E! News. “We’ve been working really hard, and the record, I’m really proud of the album. It’s my favorite thing I’ve done, probably ever.”

Cyrus and her camp are still keeping quiet on a possible release date of either the single or the album, and we probably won’t have any sort of wedding date until after both of those things are released (not to mention, Cyrus will probably want to follow the album up with a tour and probably won’t want to get married until after she returns from that). With her and Hemsworth’s busy schedules, they could be engaged for years before they start thinking about actually getting married.
