The wait is over. After a two-year hiatus, Ne-Yo is releasing another album. The triple-threat (singer, dancer, actor) describes R.E.D. as his most diverse project to date.
Ne-Yo wants you to spend the fall with him. In November, he drops his latest album, which he considers his greatest work.
At this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival he told SheKnows, “I can honestly say that this album is definitely going to be my best yet because it’s very — it’s balanced. Balance is the name of the game. This is the first time that I’ve actually paid attention to the fact that I have a very broad and diverse fanbase. I have my R&B fans over here, my pop fans over here and my people that kind of ride the middle of that, that just love me.”

So how will he cater to each demographic? Apparently, he plans on giving listeners a little bit of everything. “With this album, I decided to make sure that there was an even amount of everything for everybody. There’s six R&B records, there’s six pop records so that everybody can come to the same concert and have a good time.”

When he’s not singing smooth slow jams, Ne-Yo likes to make us dance. He’s no stranger to cutting a rug but admits he’s never had formal training. “I’ve never taken a dance lesson in my life, unless you count grueling sessions with my choreographer,” he said. “I’ve gotta give a shoutout to Jamaica. Jamaica’s the name of my choreographer. She’s the one that makes it look like I can dance.”
It sounds like someone is being a little humble. One thing Ne-Yo won’t downplay is his album release. He made sure to plug it, as well as the upcoming presidential election.
“November 6th, new album in stores, R.E.D: Realizing Every Dream. Go to the polls, vote for the president… and then go get the album — or else.”
Yes sir!
