The Princess Diaries actress finds her prince and marries him in a rustic ceremony along the Northern California coastline.
Anne Hathaway went from being cat woman to married woman over the weekend, tying the knot to fiancee Adam Shulman in Big Sur, California.
It isn’t Rachel Getting Married — it’s Anne Hathaway getting married! Yes, the Brokeback Mountain star is officially a Mrs. as she and now-husband, Adam Shulman, tied the knot last night in Big Sur, California.
The couple have been engaged for a year, but recently rumors of their impending nuptials began to surface after Valentino Garavani spilled the beans to E! News that he “did the dress” for her wedding. While it was no surprise that Valentino was the chosen designer after the pair had worked so closely together for prior Oscar ceremonies, Hathaway certainly never mentioned a date.
The wedding was held on a private estate with over 100 guests in attendance. The festivities were designed by the same wedding planner who worked for Natalie Portman, Yifat Oren. It’s interesting to note that both weddings took place at a private residence in Big Sur. It’s unknown whether the two actresses shared the same locale, but the scenery along the coast of Northern California is spectacular.
The Valentino gown did not disappoint, as photos began leaking online last night. The dress was dramatic and feminine with an off-the-shoulder neckline and romantic lace billowing from the train. The veil made a statement all on its own as it crowned the pixie cut Hathaway has been wearing since the Les Misérables film wrapped. It was a full Valentino evening, as all of the bridesmaids were outfitted by the designer as well.
The happily ever after for the new bride is the perfect ending, since Hathaway’s previous romantic life involved a swindling case and jail for her former beau, Raffaello Follieri, in 2008. When she met the actor/jewelry designer Shulman, she admits to having been a bit gun-shy. She told Harper’s Bazaar that her new husband is very “mellow.” Yet that doesn’t seem to bother the actress, as she adds, “Mellow doesn’t always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life.”
The actress will next be seen in the highly anticipated film adaption of the Broadway musical Les Misérables in December.
