Like every red-blooded, hottie-appreciating woman in the United States, we couldn’t wait to see the movie Magic Mike in theaters this past summer. When we finally got there, we were blown away — by the sexy gyrating, sure, but mainly by Matt Bomer, the first-rate cutie in the role of dancer Ken (hmmm, fitting name for a real live doll face). The public now knows Matt by name — we just wish he knew ours too.

He’s honest about who he is
OK, so Bomer doesn’t play for our team, so to speak, but we love that he hasn’t denied his sexuality — in fact, just lately, he’s fully embraced it.
“I never really endeavored to hide anything,” he told E! Online. “But there were times I chose not to relegate my history to the back page of a magazine, which to me is sort of akin to putting your biography on a bathroom wall… I had somebody from the military approach me a few weeks ago just saying how this helps people, affects people. It brought me to tears.”
But identifying Matt as a “gay actor” is exactly what he doesn’t want us to do:
“What we really have to do is stop the adjective before the job title — whether it’s ‘black actor,’ a ‘gay actor’ or ‘anything actor,'” Bomer says. “Everybody thinks that equality comes from identifying people, and that’s not where equality comes from. Equality comes from treating everybody the same regardless of who they are. I hope the media and the press catches on to that because it’s time to move out of 1992.”

He was wicked sexy in Magic Mike
Matt sprung from a largely TV-centric background (Guiding Light, White Collar, Chuck) fully formed onto the Magic Mike movie screen — and we are so glad he did. So imagine our surprise when we heard he initially thought his being cast was a mistake!
“When they called me, I thought, ‘Do they have the wrong number? Did they mean to call the guy from Vampire Diaries?'” Bomer told E! Online. “And at the time I was really skinny, so I think there may have been a five-minute window from when I hung up the phone to when I went to the gym.”
His sheer hotness has crossed sexuality lines again and again, with die-hard Bomer fans gunning for him to play Christian Grey in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie.
We don’t care what Bret Easton Ellis says: We love the idea!
He’s a family man
Bomer has three little munchkins to chase him around: oldest son Kit and twin boys Walker and Henry.
This past February, when he accepted a Steve Chase Humanitarian Award for his work raising money for AIDS charities, he said this:
“I’d really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry. Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment.”
