Is Nick Jonas still not over Miley Cyrus? Lyrics to the new Jonas Brothers song “Wedding Bells” sure make it seem so! Take a listen a judge for yourself, JoBro fans.
Nick Jonas‘ Miley Cyrus heartbreak is the stuff sad love songs are made of. “Wedding Bells,” a new track off the Jonas Brothers‘ upcoming album, hasn’t officially been declared to be about the future Mrs. Liam Hemsworth — but how could it not be?
Speaking to MTV News, the 20-year-old said of the songwriting process, “We’re in the process of recording a new album, which is both good and bad.”
Elaborating further, he explained they have to “dive into subjects that make us uncomfortable and write about them… You have to write a song and apologize for it later.”
Regarding “Wedding Bells” specifically, he added, “I don’t think I’ve ever written a song that makes me as uncomfortable as this song does. Some things happened in the last year that affected me in that moment.”

The lyrics to such a personal piece read in part: “She says, ‘Can you keep a secret/ A ceremony’s set for June/ I know it’s a rush, but I just love him so much/ I hope that you can meet him soon.'”
The chorus continues, “I don’t want to love, if it’s not you/ I don’t want to hear the wedding bells bloom/ Maybe we can try one last time/ But I don’t want to hear the wedding bells chime.”
Notably, one line of the “Wedding Bells” lyrics goes: “If you recall our anniversary falls 11 nights into June” — super-sleuths familiar with Miley Cyrus‘ autobiography, Miles to Go, likely recall this particular passage:
“Hannah Montana had only been on the air for a few months when I went to a benefit for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. I remember the exact date, June 11 2006. It was the day I met my first love.”
Wonder if Ms. Miley, now engaged to marry actor Liam Hemsworth, has any regrets about sharing so openly in hindsight?
