Justin Bieber tweeted that someone stole “personal footage” while he was in Tacoma, Washington, earlier this week. People rushed to assume it was sexy footage, but that’s (thankfully) not the case.
We threw up in our mouths a little bit when rumors emerged that the “personal footage” allegedly stolen from Justin Bieber was a sex tape. Turns out the whole thing was a hoax.
The “stolen footage” bit was a publicity stunt for a video starring him and Nicki Minaj entitled “Beauty and the Beat.” And the Twitter taunts from user @genxy? Part of the ploy, duh.

“Since I was 14 I have had a lot of things said about me,” Bieber tweeted before releasing the clip. “From dying, to taking hormones, to dying again, to stuff about my family, to saying I had a baby with a woman I never even met, nude pics, drugs, my family, my character … but today … today I get to be in on it.”
Someone didn’t tell his rep about the stunt — she’s still insisting that his laptop was stolen during a tour stop in Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma cops apparently took a police report about it, but it seems like they just wasted their time.

It’s hardly the first time the 18-year-old has carried out a practical joke, though. In March, Bieber punked two unknowing Texans when he tweeted out a phone number — minus one digit — with message “Call me right now.” Beliebers took the request seriously and started calling the number. The numbers, according to TMZ, went to two Texas residents — a man named Kent and an elderly woman named Dilcie. Naturally, they weren’t pleased and threatened legal action.

No threats of lawsuits with his latest prank, though we’re sure the Tacoma police aren’t too thrilled about it. We’re just happy there’s no real footage of a naked Bieber out there… yet.
