Which musicians are going stag to the CMAs?

The world of country music doesn’t seem to have a lot of single stars, so the musicians showing up to the CMAs alone might be choosing to do so.

Hunter Hayes

The 21-year-old singer is one of the youngest nominated for an award this year. He already has a number one platinum single and is the youngest person ever inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame — that happened just last month. Hayes hasn’t become a topic of celebrity gossip yet, and he is likely too busy with his career to date. Therefore, we’d guess that if he is bringing someone to the awards show, it might be a family member or friend.

Brantley Gilbert

Gilbert’s new single, “More Than Miles,” is about breaking up with a woman to chase his career. He spoke with Great American Country on Oct. 19 to discuss why he wrote the song.

“A lot of people in the business have put a lot of pressure on me since I started writing up here,” he said. “That song is… an actual situation that happened. I was on my way to Nashville and we had just been in an argument and I just turned around and came home. I felt like that was more important than what I had to do up here.”

However, Gilbert is dating someone new now. Country singer Jana Kramer probably is much more understanding of the pressures of his career — and probably wouldn’t miss the CMAs for anything.

Taylor Swift

Even with the controversy over whether or not she kissed her boyfriend’s cousin Patrick Schwarzenegger, Swift is not likely to take Conor Kennedy to the awards this year. The two haven’t been seen out in public, besides in paparazzi shots, and it’s unlikely she’ll start taking him out now. Even though Kennedy is 18 years old, he is still in high school, and it just may be a school night.

The singer has also gone dateless to the MTV Video Music Awards and Academy of Country Music Awards this year.
