Brad Pitt‘s design talents for furniture will be revealed next week. Don’t get your hopes up, Pitt’s designs are only for the super-rich.
Brad Pitt is more than a pretty face. Notably, Pitt’s dedication to humanitarian efforts is showcased best with his Hurricane Katrina charity, the Make It Right Foundation, which provides housing to New Orleans Katrina victims, disabled veterans in New Jersey and other in-need communities (and not just any housing — Make It Right focuses on cool, modern homes that are very environmentally friendly). Brad Pitt once again surprises us, though, with his modern furniture collection set to debut next week on Nov. 13 in New York.

Pitt spoke to Architectural Digest about his latest project, a collaboration with well-known (and very upscale) furniture designer Frank Pollaro. “I’ve been doodling ideas for building and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered [Charles Rennie] Mackintosh and Frank Lloyd Wright,” says Pitt. “Actually, I found Wright in college, when looking for a lazy two-point credit to get out of French. It forever changed my life.”
Pollaro noticed Brad Pitt’s talent for furniture when he stopped by Pitt’s home to install a custom desk. Pollaro told the magazine he was instantly intrigued. “I asked him, ‘Why don’t we make some of this stuff real?'”

Fast forward a few years and the collaboration between Pollaro and Pitt is set to go on display on Nov. 13 in Chelsea — a neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. Pitt’s furniture collection contains about 50 unique pieces, like a $45,000 chair and a Statuario Venato marble giant bathtub. (Confession: we don’t know what Statuario Venato marble is…)
Pollaro and Pitt hope to continue their furniture collaboration. Said Pollaro to Architectural Digest, “I think we’ll be doing this for a long time.”
