Lindsay Lohan might finally see the inside of a jail cell for lying about a car accident.
Lindsay Lohan is being charged with a misdemeanor for her involvement in a recent car crash. No, not that one in New York City in September — we’re talking about her other car crash back in May.

The crash in question happened in May, when Lohan’s Porsche slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler in Santa Monica. The problem? Lohan maintains that she was a passenger in the car, though the truck’s driver said he saw Lohan move into the passenger’s seat after the crash.
What’s worse? She allegedly smelled of booze, and prescription pills were strewn all throughout the car. She had valid scripts for those, according to TMZ.

Lying to the cops is never a good idea, but Lohan is still on informal probation for her 2009 jewelry theft case. She could face some jail time if she’s convicted, though her actual punishment will be up to Judge Stephanie Sautner, according to TMZ.
Santa Monica cops won’t comment on any pending charges against the Liz & Dick starlet.
“It’s an open, active investigation. There is no filing at this time,” Sgt. Richard Lewis told the New York Daily News on Tuesday.

It seems like Lohan is back to her old tricks in more ways than one. She’s even accused of pilfering several thousand dollars worth of clothes and accessories from the set of Scary Movie 5. That would be impressive, considering producers had to threaten her with a lawsuit to actually get any work out of her.
“The clothes were on her wardrobe racks. Some nice tops and skirts and other items were gone. I guess Lindsay thought she was entitled to it, like free soap at a hotel,” a source told RadarOnline in October. “All the other actors knew about it, but the producers just put it down to the price you had to pay for doing business with Lindsay.”
