TV roundup: Thanksgiving comedy

Thanksgiving with the family can be a challenge. Even the most functional of families can be a little overwhelming during the holidays, so to help you keep the angst at bay, we’ve got a list of some funny Thanksgiving TV episodes ahead.

Stressed out about facing the judgemental faces of your family members? Not ready to answer all their questions, like When are you getting married? When will you give me a grandchild? Have you put on weight? We get it. While SheKnows can’t fix your family, we can at least offer some comedic relief to get you through this week of anxiety.

The Middle
Wednesday, Nov. 14, 8:30/7:30c

A couple of marines are invited to Thanksgiving at the Heck house. Those poor marines. Nothing compares to an evening, much less a holiday, with the Heck family. Awkwardness and hilarity ensue.

Suburgatory
Wednesday, Nov. 14, 9:30/8:30c

What is going on with George and Tessa? They’re supposed to be inseparable! Somehow, though, this Thanksgiving, they’ll be miles apart. While George spends Thanksgiving with Dallas and the gang, Tess heads to the city to eat with her grandmother and mom. One thing, though: Her Mom shows up at George’s house. Whoops.

Up All Night
Thursday, Nov. 15, 8:30/7:30c

They fully intended to visit family for Thanksgiving, but when their flight gets cancelled on Thanksgiving Day, Reagan and Chris must stay home. Reagan is determined to create a normal and awesome Thanksgiving in California, but do they even have the fixings for a proper dinner?

Mike & Molly
Monday, Nov. 19, 9:30/8:30c

When Vince’s brother shows up and starts flirting with Molly’s mom, things get sticky. Will the gravy end up on anyone’s lap? We kind of hope so, but it seems unlikely. We’ve got a sneaking suspicion this Thanksgiving will turn out happily (ever after).

Happy Endings
Tuesday, Nov. 20, 9/8c

You know what would make Thanksgiving more memorable? If it were done Navajo style! Or so says Dave when he tries to throw said dinner together for his friends. Dave’s Navajo name is “Soars on Good Intentions.” Also, we’ll finally see how the seemingly incompatible gang met.

New Girl
Tuesday, Nov. 20, 9/8c

Sure, Jess is sweet, but she’s far from stable. On New Girl‘s Thanksgiving episode, we may finally understand why when she invites her divorced parents (Jamie Lee Curtis and Rob Reiner) over for Thanksgiving dinner. No amount of help from her new friends will be able to save this marriage, though.

Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23
Tuesday, Nov. 20, 9:30/8:30c

June and Chloe both end up at Chloe’s parents’ house for Thanksgiving. How will Chloe’s parents handle June? Meanwhile, James desperately wants to be seen as a caring celeb and tries to score a photo op at a soup kitchen.

The New Normal
Tuesday, Nov. 20, 9:30/8:30c

The New Normal gang has certainly had some messy Thankgivings. Even Midwesterners like Goldie can have awful, suffocating families. As they all bond to form a new family of their own, what will their new traditions be?

Biggest Thanksgiving disappointment:

The Office

Let’s put this into perspective: This is the last Thanksgiving episode of The Office, ever. And yet, they don’t appear to be doing anything for Thanksgiving. So disappointing.
