What do you get the girl who has it all? Miley Cyrus recently celebrated her 20th birthday, and PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, had the answer. The organization rescued a pig named Nora in honor of Cyrus.

“During a recent appearance on Ellen, Miley talked about how much she loves pigs, so PETA sponsored a very special pig in her honor,” said PETA’s website. “Nora, whom PETA helped rescue, is a resident at Kindred Spirits Sanctuary, a picturesque farm in Ocala, Florida, that gives refuge to animals who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, including pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, horses, and donkeys.”

Cyrus’ fans have also posted a donation page on FirstGiving.org in PETA’s name, and the organization wanted to recognize that as well. The site is up until May 12, 2013, and hopes to raise $500 for PETA.

“PETA knew that sponsoring a rescued pig was the perfect birthday present for a young woman who spends so much time encouraging others to help animals,” PETA vice presidentTracy Reiman told E! News. “From promoting animal adoption to speaking up for cows who suffer on dairy farms, Miley never stops letting her millions of fans know what they can do to make the world a kinder place.”

Back in July, PETA gifted a pet bull to Alec Baldwin and his new bride, Hilaria Thomas, as a wedding gift.

“PETA found the perfect wedding present for PETA supporter Alec Baldwin and his bride, Hilaria Thomas, halfway around the world: an Indian bullock named Raja who had carried a heavy weight on his shoulders for years, pulling a cart overloaded with tons of sugarcane” PETA said in a press release at the time.

The new bull was named Baldwin Thomas. Of course, neither Cyrus nor Baldwin get to take their new animals home. But the gifts allow the organization to rescue the animals from possible abuse or death.
