Anyone who caught pictures of Anne Hathaway as a bride wondered about her odd headgear. She explains it was covering her shorn hair.
Anne Hathaway famously chopped off her long, luxurious locks to play the dying Fantine in the upcoming Les Miserables, but that didn’t mean she liked the look.
“When I eventually looked in the mirror I just thought I looked like my gay brother,” Hathaway told an audience at the first screening of the musical in New York.
So what does your gay brother wear on his head at the wedding, if Hathaway’s choice for her October wedding is any indication? A giant headpiece that looks like a cross between a racing horse halter and a Vegas showgirl crown.

Ah, well. The ceremony between Hathaway and actor Adam Shulman was reportedly a lavish one, with more than 150 guests at a private home in picturesque Cali coastal town Big Sur. E! Online reported that, “All the decor was vintage and nature-inspired with branches and twigs, and there were ivory colored roses set up on wooden tables inside the tent.”
So lots of vintage, lots of nature, and a headpiece that kinda looks like the one I had to wear at night on orders from my orthodontist when I was 12. Sounds classy.

Headgear aside, Hathaway’s life appears to be going swimmingly: Early reports on Les Miserables are positive, her relationship with Shulman appears to be drama-free, and the actress even told The Hollywood Reporter that she really wants to have a baby, and soon.
