Adam Levine has a bone to pick with The Roxy. The nightclub, however, isn’t going down without a fight! From television’s The Voice to a hilarious Twitter pic, this celebrity feud is shaping up to be a good one.
Adam Levine insults The Roxy and they are quick to defend themselves.
Adam Levine has taken to airing past grievances on The Voice. The coach apparently hasn’t forgotten the less-than-stellar treatment he says he got during his pre-fame days, and he isn’t afraid to publicly shame establishments, such as The Roxy Theatre, that didn’t live up to his standards.
Adam Levine’s Roxy slam reaches back to the days when his band, Maroon 5, was opening for songstress Michelle Branch. The 33-year-old alleges that the Sunset Strip nightclub stiffed them, among other insults.
“I remember we opened for her at the Roxy, and they didn’t even give us a dressing room. I hate the Roxy. I’ll never play there again,” Adam Levine ranted.
“Oh, the Roxy is horrible,” he went on to say when someone protested his characterization of the establishment. “Don’t ever go there.”
“They screwed us over,” the coach on The Voice added. “And now they’re paying for it.”

The Roxy isn’t taking Adam Levine’s accusations lightly — though that’s not to say it hasn’t found a way to poke a little fun at the situation.
“Ummm, what was that about?” the club first responded via Twitter. Then it followed up with a picture of its freshly updated marquee. It now reads: “Adam Levine Your Dressing Room Is Ready.”
After The Voice episode with Levine’s Roxy rant aired, Michelle Branch jumped to the club’s defense.
“I’m sure it wasn’t the Roxy’s fault,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “Most likely my band was given one room and I was given the other per my contract.”
Adam Levine’s two favorite things: Women and sex >>
Nic Adler, owner of The Roxy, later told Yahoo! that Adam Levine and Maroon 5 were neither “screwed over” monetarily nor unfairly jilted in the dressing room department.
“I use Maroon 5 as an example of a hard-working band that played the Sunset Strip and played the clubs and blew up,” he explained. “And so when he said that… you know, the Roxy has no control over dressing rooms. If Michelle Branch is playing, it’s Michelle Branch’s show. And if her management says, ‘I want Michelle in this dressing room and I want her band in this other dressing room,’ we’re at the mercy of the headliner. For a band to think dressing rooms define how we treat bands is crazy.”
