Editor’s video pick: 50 Cent feat. Eminem, Adam Levine “My Life

In his comeback music video, 50 Cent supplements some thrills with action-packed chases and appearances from some beloved faces.

High-speed chases and rhymes

Shot in what TheHuffington Post reveals as the abandoned Michigan Central Station, we get to watch the gorgeous range of Adam Levine (wasn’t this partnership an unusual surprise to you?), the spitfire heavyweight Eminem and the controversial 50 Cent collaborate to make for one addicting single.

We haven’t seen 50 Cent for a while, even though somehow “In Da Club” never ceases to be a birthday staple (talk about nine lives).

In this stylistic re-creation of “running away,” MTV quoted Eminem as saying:

“The video is kind of abstract; it’s kind of metaphoric in a sense, like the paranoia of feeling like we’re being chased,” Eminem notes. “Whether it’s true or not, it’s kind of how we feel. It’s kind of a metaphor for us running for our lives. Personal lives and from fame, everything that goes with the game.”

50 Cent is running into some skeletons

Whether this mini action movie satiates your palate or not, the sight of 50 after so long may be what’s more entertaining than anything — because the last time I saw him was on Vivica A. Fox’s arm.

Or maybe it could be the feud he just re-ignited with the attack on former G-Unit member The Game. In case you didn’t notice, the first few lines tell him to go do something obscene for his lack of gratitude and respect. In the past few days, already The Game has retaliated with a few words of his own.

Suddenly, the fire in which 50 Cent raps and the fervor you can witness in the video makes more sense. This is a comeback for him — and a chance to come back stronger than ever.
