Lady Gaga is once again being vilified by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, known as PETA. In the wake of recent events, the group insists Gaga’s shopping spree in Russia is more unfathomable than ever.
Lady Gaga‘s spending habits are being taken as a slap in the face by PETA. After reportedly dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars on furs in Russia, the group has lashed out at the singer once again.
Rumor has it Lady Gaga, seen here on Dec. 17 in St. Petersburg wearing what appears to be a fur skirt, recently picked up a Russian sable coat worth about $210,000, as well as a silver fox coat valued around $19,600 at the Helen Yarmak store in Moscow.

A statement from PETA released to GossipCop.com reads:
“Out of place, out of time, and possibly out of her mind: While the country focuses on rejecting violence and we are deep into the season of peace, giving, and kindness, Gaga is busy decking herself out in a coat made of at least 30 slaughtered animals’ skins.”

Though Lady Gaga has yet to address this particular tongue-lashing by PETA, she did previously reach out to fans who were upset Mother Monster was caught up in the fur controversy.
In an open letter to fans, she shared, “I am choosing not to comment on whether or not the furs I purchase are faux fur-pile or real because I would think it hypercritical not to acknowledge the python, ostrich, cow hide, leather, lamb, alligator, ‘kermit’ and not to mention meat, that I have already worn.”
Lady Gaga added, “You see a carcass, I see a museum pièce de résistance.”
