Kristen Stewart on dealing with cheating scandal

Kristen Stewart opens up about her affair, as well as how she learned to deal with it. But was it really ever worth all the drama?

The Buzz – Kristen Stewart Says Sorry for Cheating… Kind Of
Kristen Stewart talks to newsweek about her scandal.

“Affair” is such a harsh word. When information came out about Kristen Stewart‘s relationship with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, is it possible the press (ourselves, included) overreacted? Yes.

There’s no denying it: Rupert Sanders, a married man, had an affair. What Kristen Stewart did, though, was cheat on her boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.

Girls cheat on their boyfriends and vice-versa on a regular basis, without having their names bashed all over the press. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes.

Sanders, 41, has had plenty of life lessons under his belt to keep him from making those mistakes. Kristen is almost 20 years younger and still learning. All I’m saying is… it’s time we cut the girl some slack.

Luckily for Kristen, she’s headstrong and more confident than she looks on the red carpet. Even if the press never lets her forget her transgressions, she’s already learned the art of putting your chin up and moving on.

“I used to just stay in my hotel room rather than deal with everything,” Stewart told The Sun, “but if you get too caught up in what others think you become a really disjointed person.”

That’s why she attended the Toronto Film Festival’s screening of On The Road, even amid the angry blitz post-mistake.

“I would never not have gone to something like that,” She told The Huffington Post. “I’ve been working on this for five years. I love this movie.”

While she’s no longer afraid to step out after her mistakes, she still regrets hurting or upsetting anyone. After seemingly apologizing and making up with Pattinson, Stewart knew there were still a few more people to whom she owed an apology.

“I apologize to everyone for making them so angry. It was not my intention,” she told Newsweek, addressing the outraged fans.

It’s an unneeded apology. The only people who still seem truly upset about everything are those who are on Team Edward. Now that the Twilight Saga has officially come to a close, though, they’re off to find a new obsession. Pattinson and Stewart will soon be a distant memory.
