Naomi Campbell mugging claims called “bizarre” by cops

Supermodel Naomi Campbell was violently mugged in Paris last month, sources say, but French police have no record of the attack. What really happened?

Naomi Campbell was injured while being mugged in Paris last month, sources say. So why don’t French police have any record of such a crime?

According to the New York Post, multiple sources confirmed the attack, saying Campbell was “knocked over and robbed” as she hailed a cab.

“It was terrifying. Naomi believes the assailant had been watching her, casing her out, and waited for a moment to strike when she was alone. She was attacked in the street as she hailed a cab, and robbed,” one source told the paper.

“Her leg was injured as she was violently pushed to the ground. She was understandably very upset and shaken up.”

Campbell was reportedly flown to Vail, Colorado, on the private jet of her billionaire boyfriend Vladimir Doronin to treat her resulting leg injury by famed orthopedic surgeon J. Richard Steadman. She has been using a wheelchair and crutches ever since.

While the Post‘s source said the incident was reported to French police, who requested she not speak out about it publicly, the cops claim to have no record that any such attack took place.

“A high profile celebrity being attacked in Paris would be something everybody remembers,” a police insider told the Daily Mail.

“If such a serious crime had taken place then a criminal enquiry would have started by now — especially if the victim ended up in a wheelchair.”

Another insider called B.S. on the story, saying Campbell is too much of a diva to hop in a cab instead of a limo.

“The thought of Naomi Campbell hailing a taxi in the street is laughable, let alone the idea that a gang would attack her. It all sounds absolutely bizarre,” the source told the DailyMail.

“Naomi is quite a demanding lady, and always has lots of assistants around her, too. She’s seldom alone!”

When reached for comment, Campbell only said, “I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine.”
