Here Comes Honey Boo Boo‘s irrepressible Mama June dyed her gray locks blond for Sunday night’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Halloween show — but her blonde daughter declares that her mom’s no competition, beauty-wise.
Mama June has had a dye job, but she hasn’t exactly gone Hollywood yet — rather than booking a slot at one of the exclusive salons she can surely afford these days, she had her four children apply the bleach in the family’s kitchen for Sunday night’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Halloween episode.
“Why do you want to be blond?” Thompson asked her mom.
“Because I want to be like you,” Shannon told her daughter.
June Shannon, the 33-year-old mother of beauty pageant/reality star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, decided to wear a Marilyn Monroe costume for the Halloween show, and her old Hollywood look started with a headful of bleach.

“Mama, all your bugs are jumping out your head,” said Thompson, rubbing the bleach into her mom’s hair. “Smells like boot boo and glue and feet.”
Boot boo? What is? Did she mean boot poo? Or is this some family name for toe jam?
Anyhoo, Thompson wasn’t worried about there being another blonde in the family: “Mama, you’ll never be as beautiful as me,” she told her mom. “You just keep on trying, though.”
Shannon tried on a Marilyn Monroe-ish dress, attracting the attention of husband Sugar Bear, who stared lustfully at his wife and uttered, “Hubba, hubba.”
But daughter Jessica, 16, was less kind: “Mama’s hair looks a hot mess,” she snarked. And June herself ultimately decided not to wear the white dress, plucking at its plunging neckline and saying “This is too revealing.”
Ultimately she ended up going as a mummy.
