Some Newtown, Connecticut, children will perform “America the Beautiful” before the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Actually, bring the whole box: A group of 26 students from Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, will perform “America the Beautiful” during the Super Bowl XLVII show, according to the Associated Press.
The performance comes nearly two months after a lone gunman opened fire at the elementary school, killing 26 children and school officials.
Since then, several television shows and sports teams have paid tribute to the victims, including The Voiceand Saturday Night Live. New York Giants star Victor Cruz even paid tribute to one of his fans — victim Jack Pinto — by writing his name on his cleats, along with the words “my hero.”
He later visited with Jack’s family.
“It was a time where I just wanted to be a positive voice, a positive light in a time where it can be very negative. It was a good time,” Cruz later said of his visit. “They’re a great family and they are really united right now at this time. It was good to see.”
Members of the Houston Texans also raised money for the victims and hosted a few students before a game against the Indianapolis Colts.
“I just kind of wanted to give them as normal a day as possible, just running around, having fun, going out on the field,” defensive end J.J. Watt told USA Today of the experience. “We were kicking field goals. They were trying to put it through the uprights. Just be kids. And to see them in a normal setting, having fun and big smiles on their faces was awesome.”
