Rihanna bloodied after Chris Brown battle at London club

Rihanna was having a really good day at London Fashion Week. But an altercation at a club left the star bloody and shaken up.

Rihanna has taken a lot of heat for reuniting with Chris Brown, but this time, she literally bled for her man.

The star was partying in London after the runway presentation of her new fashion line Saturday night. While leaving a club called The Box, someone threw a bottle at her and, according to TMZ, “screamed things at her about Chris Brown.”

The bottle, reportedly of British energy drink Lucozade, didn’t hit Rihanna, but during the commotion she scraped herself on a metal grate. She hurriedly left, holding a tissue to her bloody bare knee. It’s worth noting that Lucozade comes in a plastic, not glass, bottle.

Maybe the bottle thrower was one of the many left out in the cold Saturday night, when the runway show for Rihanna’s spring/summer collection with British brand River Island started an hour late?

“Underdressed fashion folks in line outside shivered and whimpered about the delay: Run-throughs taking too long? Over-crowding? Rihanna’s nap-time? All plausible,” wrote New York Magazine about the runway show.

Or possibly the miscreant was just one of many enraged or disappointed after Rihanna reunited with the man who left her bruised in bloody in 2009?

If so, it’s kind of ironic that someone would assault Rihanna over anger that she was assaulted.

Typically, protests over the couple’s rekindled romance tend to target Brown rather than Rihanna. in 2012, Swedish protesters defaced posters promoting a Brown show in Stockholm by pasting Rihanna’s battered face over Brown’s. A few months earlier, British protesters put stickers that said, “Do not buy this album! This man beats women” on Brown’s CDs in stores.

Rihanna’s bottle assault has shifted attention from her River Street clothing. New York Magazine called the line “skimpy separates” in “neons, florals, and washed-out tie dye prints.” The magazine also reported, “Jumpsuits, swimsuits, bandeau tops and asymmetric maxi dresses are in, says Rihanna, as are midriffs. Also recurring: leather baseball jackets, thigh-high skirt slits, hoop earrings, and hair bows.”
