You don’t know Franc(o)!

The answer

B) Allen Ginsberg

In Howl, Franco played the prolific poet Allen Ginsberg. Ginsberg’s poem “Howl” was released in the ’50s and railed against capitalism and conformity. Its depictions of sex caused a major court battle when a prosecutor tried to declare it “obscene” and have publishing discontinued. Luckily for lit majors, the judge ruled in favor of Ginsberg’s freedom of speech.
