The Carrie Diaries star Austin Butler shares his vision of the ideal girlfriend. Does gal pal Vanessa Hudgens fit the bill?
Austin Butler plays the bad boy in The Carrie Diaries, but in real life he loves himself a good girl. The actor sat down with Cosmopolitan and talked about love, trust, and the perfect woman. Does girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens fit the bill?
When asked what qualities he needs in a partner, Butler said a caring nature and passion for life are No. 1.
“Someone who is selfless in nature and cares about others — that’s such a huge thing for me,” he told the mag. “How someone treats a waiter or doorman can tell you so much about a person. And I’m attracted to someone who is a hard worker and is passionate about what they do.”

And of course, trust is everything. “As soon as you start feeling like you can’t trust the person and you need to check his phone or have his Facebook password or look through his messages — as soon as that trust barrier is broken — it’s hard to keep a relationship going after that,” Butler said.
“That’s one thing my dad taught me, because he’d been cheated on once and he always had this sick feeling in his stomach that she would do it again. You have to be able to trust that that person is going to come home to you.”
But if he wants to stick with Hudgens, he’d better be prepared to go to Coachella every year for the rest of his life.
“The first time I went, I thought, ‘This is heaven,'” Hudgens told Cosmo. “You just feel completely free. I’m going to go every single year until I die.”
