After a three-year absence, Miley Cyrus is proving she’s serious about a music comeback by signing with Britney Spears‘ longtime manager Larry Rudolph.
Miley Cyrus is very focused on her music career instead of her wedding to Liam Hemsworth right now. To show how serious she is, the former Disney star signed on with manager Larry Rudolph.
Rudolph, who first launched the career of another former Disney Channel kid, Britney Spears, is expected to guide Cyrus through the creation and release of her next album. Last month, it was announced that RCA Records would distribute the young star’s next record.
A source told E! News, “Larry has the track record to handle an international pop star like Miley.”
As Spears’ longtime manager, he handled the pop superstar’s rise from 1999 through 2007 until the duo parted ways. He came back to the Spears camp after her breakdown and developed a comeback strategy that has put the former X Factor judge back on the map.
Cyrus is hoping that Rudolph will do the same for her career. Her last album in 2010, Can’t Be Tamed, was considered a disappointment with only 343,000 copies sold in the U.S.
The young star was formerly managed by Jason Morey who handled her career during the Disney years. They terminated their partnership last February. Cyrus’ mom, Tish, will continue to co-manage her daughter’s career alongside Rudolph.

Fans can also expect a more mature sound from the former Hannah Montana actress.
One of the producers she is working with, Ernest “Tuo” Clark of Das Internz, told MTV News, “I can say it’s definitely going to shock a lot of people; definitely grown up. It’s natural; it’s not her trying to do like pop, four on the floor. What she did was, I just feel like, was different and needed in the game and, then, for her a huge ‘wow’ factor.”
This new grown-up album goes right along with her ever-changing look and hair color. She’s definitely feeling her way into adulthood.
The album should be out sometime late in the year. With Rudolph leading the way, Cyrus is aiming for the stars.
