A former maid claims that Stone fired her after she suffered an injury, and called her “crazy” and “stupid” in the bargain.
Is Sharon Stone becoming a scary boss of Naomi Campbell proportions?
The star and philanthropist has been sued by a second employee in less than a year, this time by a former maid.
According to TMZ, Angelica Castillo has filed a lawsuit claiming that she sustained a back injury after putting groceries in a car for Sharon. She was then told by a doctor that she should refrain from lifting anything heavy.
Did Sharon Stone dump her handsome young man? >>
Stone didn’t like that, alleges Castillo. When the maid refused to lift heavy things, Castillo says Stone called her “crazy” and “stupid” and then fired her.
Castillo seeks “unspecified” damages, writes TMZ.
Sharon Stone‘s lawyer told TMZ that the lawsuit was “bizarre and ridiculous.” He said Castillo was not fired, and still has health insurance through Stone as an employee. Marty Singer said he was “confident Ms. Stone will prevail in this meritless case.”
Stone was also sued back in May by a nanny who worked with Stone and her children for five years.
Erlinda T. Elemen claimed in a nine-page civil lawsuit that Stone told her not to speak in front of the children so they would not “talk like you,” the Los Angeles Times reported.
Stone also forbade Elemen to read the Bible in Stone’s house, and eventually fired her after learning she was paid overtime, the suit alleged.
A representative for Stone released a statement that called the lawsuit “absurd” and “an opportunity to cash in.”
