The singer hasn’t exactly been doing well in the media lately, and she now has another strike against her. But this time, it was something that was completely out of her hands.
Miss Swift’s camp is in trouble after hundreds of unopened letters were found in the recycle.
Taylor Swift is not the public relations darling she once was, and it may be getting worse. A Nashville TV station investigated some letters found by a woman that are supposedly unopened fan letters addressed to Swift. The problem is, the woman found them in a dumpster.
Taylor Swift says her boy-crazy rep is totally sexist >>
“I was like, ‘That’s weird,'” Kylee Francescan told WKRN. “There were like hundreds of letters in there to Taylor Swift and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I didn’t know if they were stolen [or] discarded, so I threw them in a box. And I’m like, ‘Somebody needs to let Taylor know.'”
According to the TV station, the letters are addressed to “Taylor Swift Entertainment”. Many of the letters were “covered in pictures, hearts and sparkles.”
But Francescan is one fan that is not giving up on Swift and she knows the singer probably had nothing to do with the mistake.
“It did bother me [because] I know how much her fans mean to her,” she said.

And Swift is concerned, too. In response to the TV station, Swift’s record label said they had no idea about the discarded mail, but were “very concerned about the matter.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Swift has always put her fans first. Her Myspace page still shows how she feels about them:
“I’ve loved my fans from the very first day, but they’ve said things and done things recently that make me feel like they’re my friends — more now than ever before. I’ll never go a day without thinking about our memories together.”
“Taylor gets thousands of fan letters everyday and they are delivered to her management office,” spokesperson Paula Erickson said. “After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled.”
To be fair, these letters were also recycled, but Francescan said they were also all unopened.
“The only explanation for any letters being unopened would be that a small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center,” Erickson continued. “We sincerely appreciate Channel 2 bringing this to our attention, and we plan to immediately pick up the mail.”
