Pretty Little Liars recap: Spencer is the enemy

Will Spencer really join forces with the enemy? Is Toby really dead? Are Aria and Ezra really over? We’re one step closer to the answers as we approach the season finale.

We all saw it coming. After getting her heart shattered into a million pieces by finding out the love of her life was also her ultimate enemy, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) snapped. Hard. But, was she really going to go as far as joining the “A team?”

Missed last week’s episode? Here’s the recap! >>

On the latest episode of Pretty Little Liars, Spencer actually tells Mona that she’ll join forces with her. She even goes as far as sleeping with a hoodie under her pillow. But, with this show, there are so many twists and turns that you can’t be sure if this is just another trick Spencer has up her sleeve or if she’s finally lost it. Only time will tell, but for now, Spencer has become the enemy.

Is Toby dead? Here’s how it started >>

After some help from Eddie, who doesn’t trust Wren at all because of the visitor pass debacle, Spencer made her way to the creepy baby room at Radley. You remember the episode from when Mona was still locked up. While in the room, Spencer had a creepy hallucination about dancing with Ali. It was either imagined or Ali has a twin. Spencer recalls her mother saying Ali had a bloody lip a couple of weeks before she disappeared and Ali implies a girl gave it to her. But who?

As far as that body in the woods goes, Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) mom is able let her in on the secret that another body has been found. Yes, Emily’s mom now works at the police station and is able to pass on this valuable information. Rock hard abs on dead bodies are also common in Rosewood as Emily determines the body isn’t Toby’s since the signature tattoo was smudged. But whose body was it and is Toby really dead?

Troian Bellisario’s fantastic fashion sense >>

Ezra’s son Malcolm was also kidnapped this episode — by “A” of course. This led to what seemed to be a breakup… again, between Aria (Lucy Hale) and Ezra. But it may be too soon to tell. Those kids are on again off again every other week.

It’s always hard to say what’s really going on, but what we do know is that the body count in the woods is unknown, no one knows if Toby is dead or alive, and everyone is keeping secrets. Also, it wasn’t Caleb’s father who stole the church bell — it was “A,” but everyone found that out a little too late. Oops. Maybe Caleb and his dad can make amends again next week.
