The singer is pretty good at keeping quiet about who her songs are about, but she admitted her current single is about her most recent ex, Harry Styles.
Shame on Taylor Swift, for sure. The singer wrote about a romance in “I Knew You Were Trouble” in which she started a relationship with someone she knew would eventually hurt her.

“And he’s long gone when he’s next to me / And I realize the blame is on me,” she sings in the song.
But it looks like the singer may have actually made the mistake, with that same person, twice. Swift told the UK paper The Sunday Times that her performance at the Brit Awards was emotional because the song was about someone in the audience, One Direction’s Harry Styles.
“Well, it’s not hard to access that emotion when the person the song is directed at is standing by the side of the stage watching,” Swift said, according to Yahoo!. “You’re balancing the analytical side of your brain, which is telling you where to go and how to go there, with the other side of your brain, which is saying ‘Feel everything you’re singing, and show it on your face. Feel everything exactly as you felt it when you wrote the song.’”

The timeline may seem fishy to anyone who remembers Styles and Swift dating around the end of the year 2012. The song hit the radio just as Swift began dating Styles, but it turns out that isn’t the first time they dated.
Back in the spring of 2012, they were also an item, which is why Swift said she wrote the song. Their most recent fling ended just after the new year in 2013.
“I knew you were trouble when you walked in / So shame on me now,” she sang during the performance.
She could have been speaking about either time they dated in the Brit Awards performance, where she wore a wedding dress, with her double-ex in the audience.
