Glee recap: “Wonder-ful

Blaine’s big confession comes with a rainbow pin. He’s saving the ring for later. Are there wedding bells at McKinley again?

It’s Stevie Wonder week on Glee.

And there’s lots of good news. Rachel (Lea Michele) got a second callback for Funny Girl. It’s down to her and two other girls. Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) is re-engaged to Emma. Mercedes has her first album coming out. And she, Kurt and Mike are in town visiting McKinley to help the glee kids prepare for regionals.

Song #1: Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours”

Kitty discovers Artie has been accepted to the Brooklyn Film Academy, but he tells her he’s not going and doesn’t want to talk about it. In true Kitty fashion, she responds by announcing the news to the entire glee club classroom.

Artie explains his mom is freaking out about the prospect of not being able to care for him. Plus, New York isn’t wheelchair friendly. He’s not going.

Song #2: Stevie Wonder’s “Superstitious”

Kurt isn’t just in town to visit the glee club.

He’s also attending a doctor’s appointment with his father Burt to check on the status of Burt’s cancer. Kurt has been so nervous that he’s becoming pretty OCD, forming little rituals he thinks will bring him luck.

At the appointment, the doctor tells Kurt and his family that Burt is cancer free.

Song #3: Stevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life”

Back in New York, Rachel discovers that she needs a teacher to sign off on her extracurricular activities, which means Cassandra (Kate Hudson) will have to approve Rachel’s Broadway debut if she gets the part in Funny Girl and wants to continue her classes at Nyata.

Cassandra taunts Rachel about the audition. She moves Rachel’s midterm to tomorrow morning.

Song #4: Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish”

Mercedes finds out her producer Martin is taking her album off the release schedule until she shows more skin. Martin wants to do another photo shoot for the cover, which portrays Mercedes in a sexier light. She doesn’t know what to do.

Song #5: Stevie Wonder’s “Uptight (Everything’s Alright)”

Kitty goes to Artie’s house and talks to his mom. Turns out, Artie hadn’t told his mom about his film school acceptance.

Artie finally admits he’s afraid to go to film school. His mom tells him it’s OK to be nervous but also tells him he’s going.

Song #6: Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground”

Rachel shows up to her midterm only to discover that Cassandra planned a celebration for Rachel to congratulate her on her big callback.

Rachel thanks Cassandra for making her better and challenging her. Cassandra says she knows Rachel will get the part. She tells Rachel she believes in her and that’s why she’s so hard on her.

Song #7: Stevie Wonder’s “For Once in My Life”

Mercedes shares her story with the glee club. She plans on selling her record on her own without a label and a producer who both don’t support her decisions.

Blaine gives Burt a rainbow pin to wear around the office. He also asks Kurt’s dad for permission to propose marriage to Kurt. Blaine still believes — even after everything — Kurt is his soul mate.

Burt tells Blaine not to ask Kurt because they are still kids. He tells him if he thinks they’re soul mates, then he should stop worrying. He tells him it’s going to be OK. Everything works out when two people love each other like Kurt and Blaine do.

Blaine starts to tell Kurt about his feelings but backs out. Instead, he asks Kurt to stay for regionals, which Kurt was already planning on doing. Looks like a Blaine/Kurt (Blurt?) reconciliation is headed our way.
