Lindsay Lohan can’t leave rehab for a day trip like other patients at The Betty Ford Clinic, according to an order filed with the court by prosecutors.
She might not be in jail, but she is definitely under lock and key. While most patients are allowed short day trips off rehab grounds, Lindsay Lohan can’t leave The Betty Ford Clinic because of the terms of her plea deal.
The Canyons star is spending 90 days at the California facility and is being confined according to the terms of the court, according to a letter addressed to her new-again old attorney Shawn Holley.
“It is understood by the Betty Ford Center that your client is to remain on the premises for the duration of her 90-day stay in treatment,” the letter filed in court reads.

While some think of famous rehabs like Betty Ford as cushy celebrity vacations, Lohan will actually have greater responsibilities than she probably does in her normal life, including rising at 6:30 a.m. every day to do group chores, random drug tests, and a strict hour-by-hour schedule that includes appointments with a physician, nurse, case manager, psychologist, dietician, spiritual care manager, chemical dependency technician, and fitness trainer — all by 9 p.m.

“We can’t hold a patient against their will, we can’t stop a patient from running away. We’re not a jail,” an intake counselor told People. “But we closely monitor patients via security and technicians 24 hours a day.”
“There is physical exercise and group therapy every day,” the counselor explained. “This is not a vacation.”
This is not Lohan’s first trip to the clinic. In 2010, she got into a scuffle with a sober house counselor after being accused of sneaking out to drink. Police declined to press charges and the counselor in question was fired for sharing private patient information with the press.
