Here’s What Best Actress Nominees Wore to the 2025 Critics Choice Awards

With the 2025 Critics Choice Awards all wrapped up, we can’t help but look back at the stunning Best Actress nominees.

The vibrant Feb. 7 award show was celebrating the best of 2024’s film and TV releases, and one thing was clear — women were shining bright on screen last year.

In the film category, our Best Actress nominees at the Critics Choice Awards were Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo, Hard Truths star Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Angelina Jolie for her role in Maria, Anora breakout star Mikey Madison, Golden Globe winner Demi Moore for her role in The Substance, and this year’s most controversial nominee, Karla Sofía Gascón for Emilia Pérez. Moore was thrilled to ultimately win Best Actress and gave an impassioned speech about following your dreams.

Best Actress in a TV Drama nominees were Caitríona Balfe for Outlander, Kathy Bates for Matlock, Shanola Hampton for Found, Keira Knightley for Black Doves, Keri Russell for The Diplomat and Golden Globe winner Anna Sawai for Shōgun. Bates looked legitimately stunned (a la Beyoncé at the Grammys) to hear she had won.

In the TV comedy category, Golden Globe winner and star of Hacks, Jean Smart, went up against Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell, Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, Natasia Demetriou for What We Do in the Shadows, Somebody Somewhere star Bridget Everett and Kristen Wiig for Palm Royale. Smart was not in attendance but won nonetheless.

Best Actress in a Limited Series nominees were Cate Blanchett for Disclaimer, Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country, Jessica Lange for The Great Lillian Hall, Phoebe-Rae Taylor for Out of My Mind,  Naomi Watts for FEUD: Capote vs. The Swans, and Cristin Milioti, who won for her performance in The Penguin.

While many of these nominees opted to skip the show, to see what all the Best Actress nominees who did attend wore to the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, keep scrolling!
