One of the most fun parts of awards shows is the fashion. And this year at the 2019 Emmys, the best-dressed celebrities did not disappoint. Celebs go all-out for the Emmys, and this year is no exception — in fact, thanks to TV’s all-time high in popularity right now, the Emmys are starting to feel almost as star-studded and glam as the Oscars.
One early trend we couldn’t ignore was all the pink and red on the purple carpet, which seemed to be everywhere and cast everyone wearing it in a gorgeous glow. Taraji P. Henson rocked a pink-and-red number with a V-neck down to there and a slit up to there. Mandy Moore wore an elegant off-the-shoulder cast in pink on top and red on the bottom. And MJ Rodriguez went with straight pink, in an incredible deep-V gown that swept the floor in its voluminousness.
Meanwhile, Laverne Cox wore a tulle-centric dress accessorized with a clutch that had the LGBTQ+ flag on one side and the trans flag on the other, and we’ve honestly never seen a better accessory in our lives.
We’re still trying to catch our breath from all of the incredible fashion at the Emmys tonight. Scroll through to discover the best looks!

Laverne Cox collaborated on her clutch — which featured the trans flag on the other side — with Edie Parker. On Cox’s Instagram, she gave some backstory: On October 8, a case will be heard by the Supreme Court that is “arguably the most consequential SCOTUS case for #lgbtq+ civil rights in the United States in my lifetime,” Cox wrote. “It should not be legal to fire someone from their job for being LGBTQ+. The Trump administration is arguing that it should be.” Cox is referring to referring the Trump administration’s look at Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which could make anti-gay discrimination in the workplace legal.
