David and Victoria Beckham are celebrating another holiday this July 4th, their wedding anniversary! And after 21 years of marriage, they have a lot to celebrate. Having first met at a charity football match in 1997 in Manchester, Posh and Becks, as they were lovingly referred to by the media, were a power couple from the start.
After a whirlwind romance, the footballer and Spice Girl tied the knot in 1999 and welcomed their first child together, Brooklyn, just a few months prior. The couple has spent the last 21 years building an incredible life together and share four children: Brooklyn, 21, Romeo James, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper Seven, 8.
And while the couple has had their share of ups and downs, like any married couple, they have proven that their love can withstand whatever comes their way. Celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary the two took a trip to Versailles, “A private tour, dream come true!!” the 46-year-old fashion designer captioned the stunning photo.

And in celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary, we’re taking a look at 6 facts about their kids and family life you might not realize.
They Are Both Very Hands-on Parents
“We’re pretty equal,” Victoria said in an interview about who takes the lead in parenting their kids. “We’re really good partners. I think the children are our priority and that everything we do revolves around the children. And very seldomly are we both away at the same time. We always make sure one of us is at home with the kids.”
“We make sure we’re taking them to school every day. That we’re doing the homework with the kids. That we’re bathing the kids, putting them in bed.”
Brooklyn Beckham’s Name Has Ties To Brooklyn, New York
While rumor had it Brooklyn was given his name because he was conceived in Brooklyn, New York, mom Victoria put those rumors to rest in her autobiography, Learning to Fly.
“It was when we were in Marbella that we came up with the name Brooklyn. We already knew he was a boy and so I knew he could end up a footballer, so it had to be a name that was a bit blokey. I had always liked the name Brooke and then we suddenly thought about Brooklyn. I’d always like it as a place – it’s very multi-cultural, very grounded. And it was only afterwards that I realized how appropriate it was because it was in New York that I found out I was pregnant and where David came after the World Cup.”
They Both Discipline Their Kids
When talking about who disciplines their kids, Victoria revealed they both do. “To be completely honest, we both are,” Victoria said when asked who the disciplinarian in the family was.
“That’s how we were both brought up. The kids are really polite. They are really good, hardworking kids. And they are fun as well.”
They Don’t Mind Taking Photos With Their Kids in Public
Unlike some celebrity parents who choose to keep their kids hidden from the camera, Victoria and David Beckham don’t mind being in the limelight as a family — which we’re happy about because well, they’re a pretty beautiful looking family.
“It’s not as much as some other [celebrity] parents,’ Victoria told The Telegraph. Of all of them, Brooklyn seems to chafe most at press intrusion, ‘especially when they pick up something he’s done on social media. I just think the kids should be off-limits when they post silly stuff.’
All of Their Kids Names Have Been Trademarked
Victoria has registered all four of her kid’s names with intellectual property authorities in Britain and Europe according to the BBC.
Having their names trademarked will allow the fashion designer to create branded products including toys and clothing and legally, will make the mom the only person who can use the names “Harper Beckham, Brooklyn Beckham, Cruz Beckham, Romeo Beckham” on products ranging from rag dolls to anti-wrinkle cream.
It will also prevent anyone else in the entertainment industries calling themselves by their names.
There’s One ‘Strict’ Rule in the Beckham Family Home
In an interview from Harper’s Bazaar UK, Victoria shared that no matter what, the family always eats dinner together.
“With the kids, both David and I are really hands-on. Yes, I’m up early working out but one of us will do the school run and we always try to be home by dinnertime. We’re very strict about that when we’re in London – at 6 pm we are all together, eating dinner, talking about our days. We communicate a lot — we’re a very close family.”
